My initial impetus for studying in the natural health field was my own debilitating illness that began as far back as the mid-1970′s.  My relentless search for healing and meaning led me on a personal path that has deeply enriched my understanding of natural healing.

As I was struggling with a confusing array of treatments, with no real guidance in coordinating it all and not making much improvement, I wondered why the kind of individualized counseling I needed didn’t seem to exist. Even though each practitioner was skilled in their own realm, they could each only provide the tools in their particular toolkit. No one was seeing the forest for the trees to help me navigate what seemed a jungle that I was cutting through rather blindly.

After many years of trainings and personal study, in the early ’90′s I began to share my experiences and insights, and managed a forum for natural medicine on CompuServe. By 2005, I began to work with people to help them with the kind of individualized guidance that I knew was needed.

I created Guide for Self-Healing, a web-based consulting service and educational resource. It maintains a presence on the Internet, with visitors from over 170 countries and over a thousand subscribers, as a valuable resource for cutting edge articles and resources for natural healing.

Since 2006, I have been studying the Heilkunst system of medicine with the Hahnemann College for Heilkunst. Heilkunst is the complete system of therapeutics that includes homeopathy as a small part. It’s a vast body of knowledge, under the umbrella of Heilkunst and the Dynamic System, and includes the philosophy and principles of a true medical science grounded in the work of Dr. Hahnemann, Rudolf Steiner, Dr. Wilhelm Reich, and others. This brilliant system has helped me and many others accomplish dramatic healing on deeper levels than all the methods that aim at symptoms alone.

Dynamic Regimen being the foundation for any therapeutic approach, my approach to nutrition and regimen counseling is always informed by the insights flowing from this broader context. I work with clients who are deeply interested in the philosophy of natural healing – and others who simply would like to improve their diet and learn about nutritional supplements.

A bit about some other things I’ve done over the years… I edited a book for the VA (a patient’s guide for new amputees); I was a research assistant for an air quality/health effects study at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston; I trained as a classical pianist at Binghamton University and New England Conservatory and taught privately.

In 2009, I created Dynamic Regimen and Nutrition Counseling to expand my natural health consulting practice, offering consultations for adults and children. I live in upstate NY – and that’s really upstate! – continuing to pursue my lifelong love of study in the fields that resonate deeply–music, philosophy, healing, and true medical science.
