My initial impetus for studying in the natural health field was my own debilitating illness that began as far back as the mid-1970’s.  My relentless search for healing and meaning led me on a personal path that has deeply enriched my understanding of natural healing.

As I was struggling with a confusing array of treatments, I was often faced with conflicting advice that I didn’t know how to reconcile. I kept reading everything on natural healing that I could get hold of, including the most esoteric material. And by the ‘90s when online research began to open up this vast territory, and the market for natural health products burgeoned, I began to envision a kind of coaching that didn’t seem to exist – seeing the forest for the trees and navigating what seemed a jungle that I was cutting through rather blindly.

With many years of trainings and personal study, I was developing my own skills for navigating this territory. In the early ’90’s I began to share my experiences and insights, and managed a forum for natural medicine on CompuServe, the early days of online networking. By 2005, I began to work with people to provide guidance and help them connect with choice resources.

I created Guide for Self-Healing, a web-based consulting service and broad educational resource for many natural healing approaches. It maintained an online presence for ten years with visitors from over 170 countries and over a thousand subscribers.

In 2006 I began the 4-year training in the Heilkunst system of medicine with the Hahnemann College for Heilkunst. Heilkunst is the complete system of therapeutics that includes homeopathy as a small part. It’s a vast body of knowledge, under the umbrella of Heilkunst and the Dynamic System, and includes the philosophy and principles of a true medical science grounded in the work of Dr. Hahnemann, Rudolf Steiner, Dr. Wilhelm Reich, and others. This brilliant system has helped me and many others realize dramatic healing on deeper levels than methods that aim at symptoms alone.

Dynamic Regimen being the foundation for any therapeutic approach, my approach to healthy nutrition and lifestyle is always informed by the insights flowing from this broader context. I work with clients who are deeply interested in the philosophy of natural healing and personal development – and others who simply would like to improve their diet, use supplements that target their personal needs, or learn to manage stress more effectively.

A few other things I’ve done over the years… I edited a book for the VA (a patient’s guide for new amputees); I was a research assistant for an air quality/health effects study at Harvard School of Public Health in Boston; I trained as a classical pianist at Binghamton University and New England Conservatory and taught piano privately. My first gig was at age 12 teaching guitar to neighborhood kids.

In 2009, I created Dynamic Regimen and Nutrition Counseling as a smaller site to focus on and expand my consulting work, offering email consults for adults and children. My approach is always flexible and growing, as I’m inspired by the brilliance of mentors who are constantly pushing the limits of my own understanding.

Currently I am doing consulting only minimally, and focusing more on my personal study and spiritual practice.

I live in upstate NY, continuing to pursue my lifelong love of study in the fields that resonate deeply – music, spiritual philosophy and practice, and healing – which all come together.
